Melvin is pretty eager to get ready for his future career as a bird dog and to that end has been diligently practicing his fetching, hunting, pointing, tracking and swimming. He loves to carry stuff around, any kind of stuff, all the time and he's never met a stranger. Showing good dual promise Melvin launched his competitive career at 9 months, taking Winners Dog twice at his first show and the very next weekend placing 3rd in a Field Trial Puppy stake. Melvin's hips scored .22 and .18 putting him in the 90th percentile for Weimarnaers on PennHip evaluation. |
