It is recommended to start a breeding kennel with the best female you can get your hands on and that was ensured with my foundation bitch, Ruby, who I carefully chose from a dam who was joyous in nature, crazed for hunting, retrieving and swimming, and who had earned High in Trial in Obedience and Best in Specialty Show on the same day.
In time Ruby became the most titled Weimaraner in the history of the breed with well over 50 titles to her credit, and Championships and advanced titles in every competitve discipline. Ruby made Weimaraner history by earning Show, Field and Obedience Championships to become the breed's first AKC Triple Champion Weimaraner along with earning advanced titles in tracking, agility and retrievingcompetition.
Some of her career competition highlights include winning the Western Classic Open Derby stake, placing 2nd in her Show Futurity class at the National Specialty show, CKC Best Puppy in Sporting Group, placing 4th in the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship and earning a top score in obedience competition of 199.5/200. However Ruby's true passion always remained real life hunting where she trulywas an exceptional dog for both upland and waterfowl work.
Ruby not only excelled as a competition dog but also as a producer where she has also broken records, being to date the only Weimaraner to have produced multiple Champions in every discipline: Show, Agility, Obedience, Tracking and Field, and also one dog that earned Championships in all five disciplines, and also one of the very few Weimaraners to have earned both Field Register of Merit and Bench Register of Merit designations arising from the success of her offspring in Field and Show competition. Ruby's grandchildren are showing similar talent, she already has Show, Obedience and Field Champion grandchildren to her credit as well as Master Hunter grandkids too.
