Trick training is great way to exercise your Weimaraner's mind while having fun. It is especially suited as an activity for children to enjoy with their family dog - the dog learns to obey the kids in exchange for treats and the kids can entertain their friends and family by showing off all the clever tricks they have taught their dog. Trick training, along with basic obedience, is the foundation upon which a canine career in the fim and television industries is built.
Common parlour tricks include playing dead, shake a paw, balance a cookie on the nose, speak, high 5, bring me a tissue when I sneeze, but in reality the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. You could teach your dog to dive under the nearest chair on the command 'Earthquake', to bring the telephone when it rings, or employ multiple dogs in a trick with some holding bars and hoops for another to jump. Future movie dog stars will benefit from learning to wink, sneeze, shake their coat, crawl, fetch, tug, and bark on command.
